Kustok, a former star basketball player at DePaul University, most recently worked at Comcast SportsNet Chicago, where she was the network’s Chicago Bulls, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Blackhawks reporter.  She also had been anchoring sportscasts on WMAQ-TV (NBC) in Chicago.  She joined Comcast SportsNet Chicago in 2009 as a feature reporter and occasional anchor on the network’s SportsNet Central show.

Earlier, the Orland Park, Ill. native worked at ESPN as an analyst and sideline reporter on its men’s and women’s college basketball telecasts, and as sideline reporter for its college and high school football telecasts.  Kustok also appeared on Versus (now NBC Sports Network), and did periodic reporting and anchoring work on the FOX affiliate in Chicago.

“Sarah has proven herself to be extremely versatile throughout her career and has excelled at a wide variety of assignments,” said John J. Filippelli, President of Production and Programming at YES.  “Sarah has talent, personality, a love of sports and a quick wit. We have given our viewers yet another reason to tune in to watch the new-look Brooklyn Nets on YES.”

Kustok captained the DePaul women’s basketball team her senior year.  During her four-year playing career, the Blue Demons reached the NCAA tournament twice and the NIT twice.  Kustok currently ranks 4th at the school in career three-point field goal percentage and 10th in career three-point field goals made.

She graduated from DePaul in 2004 with a degree in Communication/Media Studies, and received her Master’s Degree in Multi Cultural and Corporate Communication from DePaul in 2005.

She was an assistant women’s basketball coach at DePaul during the 2005-2006 season, a season which saw the team advance to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the first time in program history.

Kustok will be inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame on September 19.
