MAXX Signs Former NFLPA President Domonique Foxworth For Broadcast Work
Former NFLPA President and former NBPA COO Domonique Foxworth has signed with Maxx Sports & Entertainment for representation in broadcast work.
Foxworth will be represented by President Mark Lepselter and VP Michael Klein at N.Y.-based Maxx. As reported earlier this week, Foxworth recently resigned his role at the NBPA. NBPA Exec Dir Michele Roberts would not comment on the reasons why and Foxworth has not returned inquiries from THE DAILY. "I have no comment. That is something that is personal to Domonique and something I have no involvement in," Lepselter said when asked about why he left the NBPA. Lepselter said that he competed with other broadcast agents to sign Foxworth and he reached out to him through mutual contacts. “We will begin speaking with multiple networks and not just in the sports world,” Lepselter said. Although the focus is broadcast work, there is a possibility of literary work as well, he added.
Foxworth played in the NFL from '05-11 and held the position of NFLPA President from '12-14. He was hired by the NBPA last October and he has an MBA from Harvard Business School. "His background is unique," Lepselter said. "I think he can bring a completely different perspective from any other retired athlete who acts as an analyst in the broadcasting business, and, frankly its going to be on us to find the right vertical for Domonique." Lepselter said, "We are in no rush." Klein added, "He is someone who can talk Xs and Os, along with business, politics and social issues and that is pretty rare. He wants a platform where he can express his views on all of those things."
