ATLANTA – Bally Sports South and Bally Sports Southeast announced the addition of Treavor Scales (@TreavorScales) as the host of the networks’ Braves LIVE and Hawks LIVE pre- and postgame shows. Scales’ first appearance on Bally Sports South will be during Braves LIVE, Tuesday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves game.

“Landing this position is a dream come true in a myriad of different ways,” said Scales. “Coming back home to cover the Braves and Hawks for Bally Sports and continue the precedent set by Jerome Jurenovich is an honor. It is a joyous occasion to be able to work with the personalities we have here and to contribute my own personality to these fun and informative shows.”

Joining Bally Sports South will be a homecoming for Scales, as he grew up in Stone Mountain, Ga. and graduated from Dunwoody High School in 2009. He replaces Jurenovich in the host position, who previously announced his retirement after 15 years with the networks.

“Sports are meant to be fun and Treavor is big time fun,” said Jeff Genthner, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Bally Sports South/Bally Sports Southeast. “He has great energy, local knowledge and a home-grown passion for Atlanta’s teams.”

Scales comes to Bally Sports after working as a commentator at ESPN for the past six years. He hosted SportsNation on ESPN+ and appeared across ESPN’s digital and social platforms as a host of Roll the TapeSportsCenter on Snapchat; The College Football Show on Twitter, YouTube and the ESPN app; and What’s Good on ESPN IGTV.

During his two-year fellowship program at ESPN, Scales also was a host and anchor of SportsCenter and ESPN New York 98.7 FM. He began his eight-year career at ESPN in 2013 as a crewing coordinator.

Scales graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2013 and was a four-time All-Ivy League running back on the Harvard football team (bio).

What they are saying about Treavor Scales

“Treavor is a tremendous addition to our lineup of on-air talent on Braves and Hawks telecasts. He truly lives and breathes Atlanta sports, and we’re excited to see him bring his passion, preparation, knowledge and energy to our on-air team.” – Jamie Shapiro, Executive Producer, Bally Sports South

“Treavor is the total package. He’s knowledgeable, funny and passionate about his hometown teams in Atlanta. To top it all off, he’s incredibly charming on camera. He’s going to be a massive star, and Bally Sports South is lucky to have him.” – Justin Rockhold, ESPN Producer

“There are few people who love Atlanta more than Treavor and there are fewer people who work as hard at their craft than him as well. I couldn’t be happier for him to be able to work in a field he is good at while working with a subject he lives and dies for. Atlanta got themselves a good one.” – Taylor Twellman, Co-Host of SportsNation on ESPN

“I met Treavor when I first got to ESPN and he showed me a very important thing that can sometimes be hard to find in this industry: he’s a very good person. He also goes hard for Atlanta so even though I’m sad I no longer get to work with him, I know he’s right at home.” – Christine Williamson, ESPN Host/Reporter

“It has been an honor to watch Treavor grow into the incredible talent that he is today. He is bright, articulate, passionate, and an extremely hard worker. Treavor doesn’t settle. He made it his mission to practice, pursue, and work harder towards his goal than anyone else in the room.” – Jennifer Altarriba, VP Legal Operations, The Walt Disney Company

“Treavor Scales will go down in Harvard Football history as one of the toughest, most dependable and most decorated running backs we have ever had. More importantly, he was a great person, team leader and the epitome of humility and class.” – Tim Murphy, Harvard Head Football Coach
